The Hot Air Balloon

Today on Friday,  we saw a hot air balloon at St Paul’s school.
The hot air balloon was very colourful. The colours were yellow, red, orange and pink. Everyone that was there got to have a turn in the hot air balloon, then it was my turn and I was nervous but I was willing to have a go.
Up,  up and away we went. We weren't going up so high but we were up all right. WEEEE this is so much fun. There was also a penguin that was tied up. Every time we went down, the penguin got squashed.
The hot air balloon’s name was Wildfire. When I was under the fire, it was very warm and it felt like I was at home by the warm hot fire place. The whole school was told to go to school at 7am or 7.30 because the hot air balloon was coming to our school at that time.
The school bell rung. DING DING! went the bell.
We got to help the hot air balloonist put that MASSIVE big fat monster down on the ground. FART! The air was going so fast,it made that sound. Quinn, Daneka, Paige.D and I were the first ones to go in the rainbow-coloured balloon. I enjoyed the balloon ride and the day and it was my first time in the hot air balloon.

Swimming Sports

This year, our school had swimming lessons in the Ngaruawahia Town Pool, then we finished them by having our Swimming Sports Day.
We had lots of activities like backstroke, ball race and freestyle. I was in the little pool doing the freestyle race. In my head the word I can do it was spinning then suddenly, I heard Mr K blow the whistle GO! I went hard out doing freestyle. My arms were going around in circles. I saw that some people were in front of me, but I didn’t care. I just carried on. There was lots of splashing. As quick as a dolphin, I was at the end of the pool. What did I come? I got this orange round disk that said 2 on it. Does this mean I came 2nd? YES! I was very proud of myself for coming 2nd. I went up to a desk to give the disk to the people and they wrote my name on a whiteboard on the St Francis row.
After we did the swimming sports race, the whole school got to have a free swim. There were bombs, diving belly flops, jumping in and falling in. I KNEW COULD DO IT. I was so happy and proud of myself. I can't wait until next  year’s fun swimming sports.

Ash Wednesday

Honey Bees Photo

What I found out: Honey is made by nectar and bees go and get the nectar from the flowers and bring back the nectar to the hive and turn it into honey then the beekeepers get the frames and get the nice honey off the frames and put it in a mixer and it goes nice and golden.
