When We Went to Hamilton Zoo

It was a sunny and good day. Room Four and I had earned lots of marbles for our good behavior and we were going to the Hamilton Zoo to learn how animals live and for our project.

We were walking to our first animal in the zoo - the cheeky monkeys. They were hanging upside down. There were big long logs going across in the huge cage. They were leafy.
“Chatter! Chatter! Chatter!” chattered the two noisy birds. They were so white, they looked like snowmen on the thin sticks that went across their cage. To me, it looked like they were dancing on their yellow stick legs on the thin sticks.
Thirdly, we walked to the fat Red Panda’s big jungle cage. “Where is it?” thought our group.
Suddenly, we spotted the lazy fat Red Panda fast asleep on a wide flat brown log that lay across the enclosure.
Next, we walked to our next animal, which were
was the rhinos. They were stomping around on the hard ground.
“Try not to get them angry!” warned Mrs Thomson.
“ Okay,” we replied.
The fat rhino was up close, staring at us as if he was going to run at us.
“Nice and still, nice and still,” we said, sacredly.
The good thing was that it didn't hurt us.
We next walked into the Zoo Classroom. The teacher who was there was Ken and he showed us around. The classroom was fresh but it had dead animals that had been alive before but they had died. He told us all about animals and how they live.
Wow, that was fun at the zoo. I need to go again.

The Bad Zoo

It was a sunny morning. Alexa and Jack were biking to the zoo.
"Let's go to the cute stripy tigers,” Alexa said, so they walked to their enclosure. When they approached, everyone was running around screaming, “THE BABY TIGER ESCAPED!”
Alexa and Jack were frightened and went somewhere else. Suddenly in the bushes, a tail of black and orange appeared. They both followed it and it lead to an empty cage.

“Look! There it is! I really saw it!” shouted Alexa.
They saw the zoo keepers coming.
“What do you children think you doing in here?” roared one of zoo keepers.
Alexa and Jack said, “Uh .. um .... well .... uh .... we saw the missing tiger cub that escaped."
“Well, where is it?” wondered the zoo keepers.
“It's hiding in that log,” shouted Jack.
“Stay back, kids. We’ll  get it,” said the zoo keepers loudly.
“Okay,” replied Alexa and Jack.
There was a shiver in the green bush. The baby tiger jumped into the big net.
“Thank you, kids. We think you could have a reward and that is to pat the tiger cub."
“It's so soft and cute,” Alexa squeaked.
“I think we should go now,” said Jack.
So off they biked home, happily.
